Individual plasma systems for almost any process

As the world's leading manufacturer of plasma units and systems, Plasmatreat provides a wide range of equipment for atmospheric plasma processes (Openair-Plasma®) and low-pressure plasma technology (Aurora).

Flexible automation of Openair-Plasma® processes Industry 4.0-ready

Plasmatreat standard production cells are available with various handling options: 6-axis robots, XYZ movement systems and other manipulators can be used to transport the parts or the robots can move the plasma jet around a static assembly. Parts can be optionally supplied via an integrated conveyor belt or a turntable. Openair-Plasma® processes are used wherever surfaces require preparation prior to subsequent bonding, printing, lacquering, sealing or over molding with plastics.

This is done by moving a plasma jet over the contour of the treated component, or the component is moved past a stationary plasma jet. Depending on the type of the jet and the specific weight, as well as taking into account the components or substrates to be treated and the existing production environment at the customer’s site, a decision which solution is the most suitable will be made during the design process. In this way, the plasma treatment is individually adapted to the requirements and process environment of the customer.

Openair-Plasma® system components

The main system components of Openair-Plasma® atmospheric pressure plasma technology are the plasma nozzles, the process control and the generators.

Openair-Plasma® Generators

Specially designed plasma generators are the basis of highly effective and energy-efficient pretreatment systems.

Plasma Control Unit (PCU)

PCU incorporates a variety of control and monitoring functions to ensure the consistently high quality and reproducibility of the plasma treatment.

Openair-Plasma® Jets

Openair-Plasma® jets precisely matched to different applications to deliver exactly the right amount of plasma for your product.

Openair-Plasma® inline pretreatment for industry processes

Openair-Plasma® technology offers a wide range of applications across various industries. From inline oxide reduction in semiconductor production to potential-free pretreatment of films and foils, chemical-free cleaning in coil coating, and reliable bonding of lightweight panels – the possibilities are nearly limitless.

Plasma systems can be inline integrated for customized surface treatments on materials like plastic, glass, and metal. Automated robotic solutions allow seamless integration into existing production lines.

Plasma technology sets new standards in efficiency, quality, and sustainability.

Aurora Low Pressure Plasma Systems

Vacuum or low-pressure plasma is generated between two electrodes by electromagnetic high-frequency fields in closed chambers under vacuum (10-3 to 10-9 bar).

The surface properties of the inserted components are specifically changed by the choice of gas composition (air, nitrogen, oxygen, etc.) and the type of energy coupling (DC, kHz, MHz or GHz).
